Why is my 4WD not working in my GMC Sonoma?
When I got back to my cabin, I engaged 4WD again (indicator light is on) and put the truck into park (to my understanding if 4WD is working correctly, I should not be able to move the tires). I tried spinning the front tires and they turned with each other so the actuator is engaging the 4WD but they were not limited by the truck being in park.

If your truck is a 98+, there is a vacuum can in the drivers fender hidden behind the abs unit. Take a look and see if the nipple is broken. If not, carefully remove the line….otherwise you will have a broken nipple. A couple of choices…remove the fender and replace it with one from a j/y, or find a spot foe the old style round one. It’s a 96.

The new switch fit perfectly in the This 4×4 transfer case switch was exactly as the picture shows. Traded it our for my old switch and my 4×4 in my GMC Sonoma started working like new. The new switch fit perfectly in the place of the new switch.
