I chose it as it puts 2 of the three vents directly over the hottest points of the hood, behind the radiator and above the mini cats. the 3rd is simply there for symmetry. YMMV but i havent had any issues with additional dust/water getting in there. its open from the bottom and stuff gets splashed all over already so its pretty hard to tell.
