Why is the battery on my sportsman 500 not charging?
Voltage on the battery at idle is around 11 to 12v, when I rev engine, voltage does not increase. Battery drains the longer it runs. Rectifier/regulator seems ok. I swapped with one from my other Sportsman and same lack of charging. How do I test the stator and coil and what readings am I looking for on my multimeter?

Why does my sportsman 500 keep coming back out?
Each of the 500s I have like to let lower a-arm bolts (front and back) and lower bearing carrier bolts back out. Granted this is with over 3000 miles on each of them. Make sure you keep and eye on them and that they are tight. If the a arm bolts back out its usually because some grease worked its way into the threads.

So I went out tonight, and tried starting it, the motor wont turn over. It sounds like only the starter is turning over. I checked all connections, and they were good. Might just buy a new on/off kill switch and see if that fixes the issue. Alright, completely new issue…I have been running the atv by using the pull start or jumping it at the solenoid. Today I tried to jump it at the solenoid and as it started cranking, the whole machine died.

That $3,000 your gonna save will buy a lot of gas, grease, and modification parts. I would never be afraid to buy a value like Sportsman machine. Very solid from top to bottom.

I heard the idle decrease just a few rpm, I pushed harder and then whoops the idle sunk to correct level 1180 rpm and stayed there also when I stopped pushing on the wheel. So the stop screw was too high. Now, in Polaris workshop manuals there are plenty of warnings about adjusting the stop screw yourself.
