In keeping with tradition, the MIT Admissions Office produced a lighthearted video to alert students to check their decision screen on March 14 (a.k.a. Pi Day), the day the office typically releases decisions.
How long does MIT admissions take to reply?
We average a response within 24 hours, but the number of emails tend to spike especially around the application deadlines, so please be patient if we don’t respond in realtime. There were 20,075 applications submitted for a place in the 2020-21 freshman class; just 1,457 were accepted. This acceptance rate of 7.4% was actually higher than the 6.6% for the Class of 2023.
