Concerned about the length of the umbilical, I calculated its pressure drop. The theoretical pressure drop across 710 feet of ¾-inch pressure hose at 24 GPM is 800 PSI. The pressure drop across the same length of 1-inch return hose is 200 PSI.

That big line coming off the tank is the oil drain line which will also be replaced. The lines to and from the oil pump to the filter will also be replaced. Not ready to replace them yet, will probably be a couple weeks before I get into that.

Because the tank is old and will eventually leak. No doubt the tank is well beyond a reasonable life span and any warranty the tank may have had. If the tank is not in use and will not be used (no one ever converts from oil to gas and goes back to oil) the no brainer approach is to have the tank removed and tested.
