What is EGI relay?
The EGI relay is how the ECU controls the fuel pump. That’s why when you put the keys in and click it to “ON”, the pump only comes on for 5-10 secs. The ECU says, looks like we’re not starting soon, so no sense in wasting the battery. It’s also a safety feature.
What is the EGI fuse for?
From what i can see on the diagram, it is the fuse for the main relay, which in turn powers the igniter, and ignition coil/switch.

Is the EGI relay the same as the EFI relay?
THis is only with the ignition ON. If I take the key out and walk away and try to start the car half an hour or so later the car starts fine. Questions:What does the EGI relay does??? is it the same as E.C.C.S relay, engine control relay, EFI relay???
Can you hear the EGI relay when the car refuses to start?
I can also hear the fuel pump running during the initial priming. When the car refuses to start (it cranks fine…)I can hear the EGI relay and the AIV control solenoid valve clicking loudly at the same tempo. THis is only with the ignition ON.

egi=electronic gas injection=efi=elec. fuel injection. your fuel pump relay and aiv solenoid will click when you turn the key. relays and solenoids are supposed to click when you give them power.

What is an EGI control relay on a Kia Sportage?
Kia Sportage: Hi. Autotech working on 2000 kia sportage. Hi. Autotech working on 2000 kia sportage. Main engine fuse blows with key in on position. Immediately as soon as key is turned to on. Fuse ok if I remove ego main relay and switch ignition on.
