The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 and 2:00 a.m. UK time on Saturday morning. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule.

Open the BBC audio streaming window by clicking on its link in whatever Internet browser you are using. Click on the “Record” button in the Audacity program window while the audio window is buffering the stream. Click “Save” to save the stream as a WAV or MP3 file.

What has happened to BBC Sounds?
The BBC Sounds app is now available in app stores around the world. We closed the international iPlayer Radio app in November 2020 as part of our plan to make BBC Sounds the one place for all BBC audio.
