What causes a dirtbike to lock up?
A dirt bike engine that gets too hot will eventually seize. Metals can only take so much heat before they start to melt. An overheated piston or ring will burn away and weld to the cylinder wall. It will probably start scratching away the cylinder wall first, and then quickly transition to seizing and locking up.
What would cause a motorcycle to lock up?
The first and most common reason a motorcycle engine seizes is because of lack of lubrication. If you have failed to add or top off the oil in your engine, it’s likely there is an engine seizure. If you suspect this to be the reason your engine has seized, the damage may be too severe for you to fix yourself.
What’s the best way to turn off a pocket bike?
Once you are done riding the bike and plan to turn it off, turn the gas valve in the horizontal position, closing the gas to the bike (as shown in image4 with the yellow arrow, the gas valve in the HORIZONTAL position). This stops the gas from flowing around the bike, which in turn prevents the carburetor from flooding in the future.

Where is the throttle on a pocket bike?
On the right side of your bike, where your throttle is located, there is a bolt (as shown in image6 with red arrow below). You would unscrew the bolt and place it in any of the slots located above (as shown with the yellow arrows). This would limit the distance the throttle can be pulled back, thus limiting the speed.
