How do you open the fuel tank cap?
Most European and premium vehicles do not have a separate button or lever to open the fuel tank cap. Unlocking the doors will automatically unlock the fuel lid. Just press the lid gently and it will pop open. Examples include the Volkswagen Vento and the Ford EcoSport.

It runs from the nozzle inlet over the frame rail and to the inlet pipe on the tank. The flap was not in the filler hose. Nor could I feel it as far as my finger could reach into the tank pipe. If the flap is in the truck, it is in the tank.

2005, metal fuel neck. I can see in with no flap or sign there ever was a flap. I’ve seen this issue crop up before in other threads. People suggested a clogged EVAP system or a kink in the fuel filler hose.
