Is there a problem with my Honda Foreman 400?
As I write this, the issue is solved but I used this forum and others along with a shop manual to repair my 1998 Honda Foreman 400 TRX400. In all my research I didn’t see many definitive solutions so I figured I’d post this in hopes that someone else would find it helpful in the future if faced with the same problem.

Why is my Honda Foreman 450 not shifting?
It will run for a while and shift fine then all of a sudden it hangs and won’t shift below 2nd. Once I park it and use ye ole manual method to get it back to nuetral I turn it off, give it a couple and then go back to riding. Sometimes it rides fine and then BOOM, does it again.
Can you remove the shift motor on a 98 Foreman?
98Foreman: Yes, the removal should be in the repair manual. Just look for the Shift Motor. When you take the shift motor off, the shift motor gear box will come off with it. It is in that gear box that you’ll find the gooie, stiff grease.
