Is the Mercedes Benz W220 S-Class A good car?
No S-class, even one that can drive itself and park itself, develops itself. It’d be hard to get a tormented and financially poorer W220 owner to agree, but the worst part of the W220 wasn’t a component, it was the cataclysms at Daimler and Mercedes-Benz throughout the 1990s.
Is the W220 S280 the same car as the 2000 S500?
Really excited to see what else you have in store. You have exactly the same colour combination that the project 2000 S500 has, both exterior and interior. It’s a nice match. Finding Orion Grey interiors here in the States seems to be more of a challenge than it apparently is on your side of the pond.
What was the production of the Mercedes Benz W220?
Compared to its predecessor, the W220 had somewhat smaller exterior dimensions but offered more interior space, particularly in the long-wheelbase versions (although the trunk is smaller than on its W140 predecessor). When did the Mercedes Benz W220 face lift come out?
A face-lifted version of the S-Class was designed in late 2000 and introduced in September 2002, offering a more refined front-end with a larger, more upright grille, transparent headlamp housings with sealed-beam projectors, and revised taillights. Much of the rest of the exterior remained largely unchanged from first phase W220 models.
When did the Mercedes Benz W220’S class come out?
In the United States the W220 S-Class was introduced in 1999 for the 2000 model year, replacing the W140. The type was noted as being the leader in the U.S. car market for luxury cars, and early reviews were mostly positive but noted the amount of money that could be spent on options.

What kind of rims does a Mercedes-Benz W220 use?
I know them to be the CLK lightweight rims (W208) because they’re made of aluminum and much much lighter than standard rims. Also called stripper model rims, because the owners who buy the car usually buy the car with zero added options (hence stripper model) but oddly enough the stripper rims go for big bucks here…go figure.
How many airbags are in a Mercedes Benz W220?
The W220 S-Class added standard front and rear side curtain airbags. In total, the W220 features 8 airbags: 2 frontal (driver and passenger), 4 side airbags (one in each door) and 2 window-airbags.
