Is the Great Wall X240 a good car?

DRIVING EXPERIENCE: The Mitsubishi sourced 2.4L 4 cylinder engine is gutless at start but maintains a good highway pace. Steering handling is tight and responsive. Others have said that it is difficult to shift gears.
Are there any issues with the Great Wall X200?
Viewing the Great Wall reviews on web which indicated typical issues with this later model ie No problems to date except under warranty Rear Sensors which were not working had a few loose wires & small tailgate switch stopped working so need to climb in back to open. Fixed under warranty.

When to change gear on Great Wall X240?
2011 Great Wall X240 Manual – setting stays on 2WL. When changing gear from 2nd to 3rd at say 30km/per hour it jerks, I have to stay in 2nd til I’m going at 40km just to change up. Going up hills I have to chop down to 2nd and really floor it before i can change up again and until i reach the top of the hill.

Is there headroom in the Great Wall X240?
Legroom is sufficient for tall people like myself, though the headroom is lacking. The dash cluster tach and speedo are difficult to see during the day. But all controls are well lit and adjustable in dark environments. The standard stereo unit plays audio CDs, and has a USB input in the console box which does nothing.
