Is it time to write a review of the Suzuki GR650?

Fee and my ownership of the Suzuki GR650 is coming to an end. So it’s time to write a review, or perhaps it’s an elegy, because I’m sad to see the bike leave.

What kind of sprocket does a Suzuki GR650 use?

Exchange the factory 15 tooth countershaft sprocket with a 16 tooth (Suzuki part number 27511-37200). Note that this sprocket was originally used on a mid-eighties Suzuki motocross model and is designed for #520 chain, rather than the GR650’s standard #530 chain. That means it is slightly thinner than the original sprocket.

Is the Suzuki GR really fee’s bike?

The GR is actually Fee’s bike. When she was riding more than she does now, her Yamaha SR185 began to frustrate her for lack of power. I encouraged her to buy something before new learner laws came into effect allowing bigger bikes, which would raise their prices.

What’s the difference between a GR650 and a tempter?

The big difference was the GR650 had been cleverly updated with better technology and reliability, including a unique floater single shock suspension.
