- Remove center console trim.
- Remove 4 screws holding shift boot base.
- Pry plastic shift retainer ring off the metal centerpiece.
- Remove shift knob by unscrewing counterclockwise; you may need to loosen lower locking nut.
- Unscrew lower locking nut.
