How do you keep your windows from coming down?
Balance Friction Spring
- Purchase a balance friction spring if the window is a wooden window.
- Slide the window down so you can access the top of it.
- Slide the balance friction spring between the window frame and window.
- Insert a small nail into the hole on the tab of the spring.
- Slide the window up and down.
Why do back door windows not go all the way down?
Well, it’s actually due to the design of the rear doors. Simply put, there’s no place for the glass to go when the window rolls down. In this scenario, the section that rises and falls is only as wide as the lowest part of the door, enabling it to completely open the way the windows in front do.
What to do when your windows go down by themselves?
1) Ignition on, engine not running. Do this for each window. This relearns the torque settings and the window extents (what is open and closed). By first detent, I mean use the manual window open control. Pulling up to the second detent will engage the automatic open/close thingy which is what you’re trying to fix.
When does a car window go down by itself?
