How do you check the oil on a 2002 YZ250?
The check port is used similarly to a sight glass… remove the plug, hold the bike level. At the proper oil level, you should get just a little trickle of oil coming out of the port. If you have too much oil, this is a good place to let it out too.
Why does my YZ250 keep fouling?
The most common reasons why your dirt bike has a fouled spark plug are because a dirty air filter, improper pre-mix ratio, carb jetting is too rich, the engine has low compression, or a weak spark.
Why does my dirt bike start but not stay running?
Fuel problems If tuning the carburetor with the fuel/air screw does not help, it could be a pilot jet scenario. A jet that is too big offers fuel that is too rich. This will start the bike but will not keep it running. If it is kinked or pinched, the dirt bike might get enough gas to start but not enough to keep going.

Why does my 2 stroke keep fouling spark plugs?
So, you have some work ahead of you to determine why you keep fouling the spark plug in your 2-stroke dirt bike. Worn or damaged pistons leak oil which fouls the spark plugs. Bad jetting, bad gas and an incorrect gas to premix ratio all result in fouled spark plugs. Check your air filter too.

One of them is most likely the cause. The fuel is fine, the last time I rode, I ran it out of gas. And the gas I put in was new. The filter is filthy, I tried to buy a UNI to replace it but got ripped off on eBay. But this shouldn’t be the problem since I had the filter off? The plug is new, but I didn’t check to see if it was sparking.
