How can I get my front driver seat to release?

How can I get my front driver seat to release?

Mine did this, just attack the mechanism with WD40. Your seat has a two way release mechanism,1st stage releases the rear of the seat and the 2nd lets the seat move forward, there both worked with cables and levers, possibly one has seized, stuck or popped off! To access the cables you unclip the fabric from the lower part of the seat back!

Bit of an issue, on the end of the cable attached to the wire cylinder, the little black connection, it seems to have gotten lost in seat, is this 100% necessary or is there somewhere I can get a replacement? Thanks. I’ll be under my seats in the new Year !

How does the tilt slide work on a Mini Cooper?

The tilt/slide mechanism works by a cable thats attached to the seat back, when the seat back is tilted forward the cable pulls on the mechanism under the seat base and releases it, allowing the base to slide. On both seats the cables had snapped. Layout of cable under the seat base Cable holder at back of seat
