Can you kick start a bike in gear?
Start the bike in neutral and pull clutch in, turn off bike with clutch still in and click bike in gear. Then kick once and it will fire out while in gear!
Can I start my bike in first gear?
Always in first gear, unless you want your bike run down a slope after you left ….. There is no harm in putting it in the first gear, just remember to pull the clutch lever, at the first place…..
Should I start motorcycle in neutral or first gear?
When it is in neutral you dont have to be pulling in the clutch so it will start right up. If the kickstand sensor is bad it should not start in gear AND die when you kick it into gear.

I’d recommend taking the dust caps off your crank arms and verifying this first. You may also need to remove the bolt holding the crank on the bike. If it is indeed a square taper (you’ll see a square box sized hole in the crank where the bolt was), then that’s good news. It’s really easy to find cranks that will fit a square taper bottom bracket.
What to do if left crank arm does not fit?
The left crank arm does NOT fit perfectly in the axle and the axle does not on the bearing. To have a perfect fit I put same plastic pieces between the bearing and the axle. 5 pieces to be precise. 3mm pieces of zipp tie. Push them once the the left arm is in place before the washer whit the star hole.
When do you need to replace a crankset on a bike?
