I love the whole Squier VM line, and I’d imagine that the VM Tele Deluxe compares extremely favorable to my Fender 72 reissue, especially considering the fact that the reissue is about $700 just to have the Fender name on it. And, the pickups in it are not really anything but standard humbuckers, neither particularly good or bad.

Looks great, but so does the Squier. You can actually find a couple guys on the web (look up Telenator) who actually remake that original 72 pickup but it is not cheap at all. Out of my budget but think of it if you got the Squier…
