Why is there no heat on the passenger side?
Could be a control panel issue. It’s most likely not anything related to the heater core since you’re getting heat on the passenger side. Just like thenaaks said, the door actuators might have gone bad. Small update. The max-cold air then switch to hot air did not work.

Heat is fine on all settings on passenger side vents. Air flow same both sides, just no heat drivers side. The gates also control which side gets what. Did you find the recommended reading relevant to this discussion?

Why does cold air come out passenger side?
User27287 is right, flushing the coolant system will not help as you do not have an issue with your coolant system as evidenced by heat production on one side of the car. The electronic mode actuators move doors inside the HVAC ducts to channel hot or cold air to the desired location. One or more of these are not functioning properly.

You do not mention your model but I assume that you have dual temperature controls and that the driver’s side is blowing cold air. If that is not true, then most of what I say is inapplicable. (No air at all on a manual control system implies a hose is disconnected.)

What to do if your Buick has no heat?
Had a similar problem with my 2010 Buick. Heat on the driver side, zero heat on the passenger’s side. From another post it was suggested to flush the heater core. After a few hours tearing apart the dash finding no problem, I flushed the heater core. To my surprise it solve the issue.
