Why is my son-in-law Peugeot 406 not starting?
My son-in-law bought this car on Thursday. Today he disconnected the battery whilst fitting replacement seats and door trims, to avoid any problems with airbags . Now the engine will not start, and there is a message ‘Engine Immobiliser Fault’. He has two keys, both of which started the vehicle previously, but only one has remote locking plip.

Today I called the AA man for his opinion who was really helpfull.After the routine checks He diagnosed the immobiliser problem .The key fob was functioning good but the main immobiliser system needs to be sorted for . He advised to go to the main dealer.He also added that these cars are one of the few cars where we cant help in similar situation.
