Im working on this 2007 Isuzu NPR, 5.2L. Its throwing a p0087 everytime you try to accelerate, and cuts engine power. The tech before me replaced the fuel pressure regulator and another sensor on the pump.

I pulled an oil sample and had it tested for fuel dilution (because of the P0093 code) came back with a clean bill of health. I should also mention that i inspected ALL the fuel components for possible external leaks and everything is dry as a bone.

Fuel is drawn from the fuel tank via a feed pump and then pumped into the fuel rail by two plungers, all of which are internal to the fuel supply pump. This high pressure is regulated by the engine control module (ECM) using the fuel rail pressure (FRP) regulator dependant upon values from the FRP sensor attached to the fuel rail.
