Why is my Honda Foreman es not shifting?
I have a 2004 Honda 450 foreman ES. the manual shift works through all gears and shows on the dash. the electronic shift button on the handle bars does not work, replaced the angle sensor and still not shifting. everything else electrical working???? Sounds like a connection problem if nothing changed when you changed the angle sensor.
How often do gears Blink on Honda Foreman 450ES?
Have similar prob,only mine will show all gears as I manually shift.The gear digits blink 8 times.I can ride using the manual shift lever w/ no problems,but I would like for it to work the way it was designed.Will get circuit tester and run diagnostics as it explains in the service manual.
Can a manual shift work with an electric shift?
Shifting problems started and got progressively worse. For awhile I could turn it off and back on again and shift properly. Now, it won’t Electric Shift at all. Manual shift works perfectly through all gears.

The reason that redmud01’s 450 doesn’t show 2nd, 3rd, or 4th on the display, is that the gear position switch on the ’98-’01 ES models only has positions for reverse, neutral, 1st, and 5th. On these models, the ECU determines whether the ATV is in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th, by using engine RPM and vehicle speed.
