Why is my AC blowing hot air on one side and cold on the other?

Could be a multitude of things and I’d bet they’re electronic in nature. You have two air mix control dampers; one for the driver’s side and one for the passenger side that are independently controlled and operated by electric servo motors. It sounds like your a/c is operating fine since you get cold air on the passenger side.

WOW! part numbers 80321-shj-a02 and 80341-shj-a01. The “low freon” speculation…needs to be investigated. I suspect the cold air coming out of the passenger side is plenty cold, which would not be possible with a freon leak. Before bringing it into the shop, check out the driver’s side air mix motor.
