We make no distinction between the MX5 and the Eunos Roadster. We know they are the same car! Mk1 models were built between 1989 & 1998 and all have “pop up” headlights. Mk2 models ran from 1998 to 2000 and are easily identified as having “fixed” headlamps. The Mk2 was face lifted in 2000, and soon became known as the Mk2.5.

Certainly, my ’93 Eunos has almost no rust at all (imported ’05), just a little surface rust inside the boot. (In spite of a new roof, with new rail, it still leaks.) It was a cheap one too. In general the imports are far better equipped, Air con, Electric mirrors and windows are fitted to many.
