Some clarification, for anybody else who may experience this maddening error:The hood (when lowered) is held onto the frame of the car by two latches, basically on either side of the upper part of the radiator.

The hood open sensor/switch for a CLK350, Model Year 2009 is built into the DRIVERS SIDE hood latch (there are 2 latches for the hood, one on the passenger, one on the driver’s side). Just thought I would add this if anyone is looking.

Where are the fuses on a Mercedes Benz E class?
Cigar lighter / power outlet fuses in the Mercedes-Benz E-Class are the fuses #71 (Front interior socket, Front cigarette lighter), #72 (Cargo area socket) in the Luggage Compartment Fuse Box, and fuse #9 (Glove compartment socket) in the Engine Compartment Fuse Box. It is located on the right side of the luggage compartment, behind the cover.
