Very easy to get close to factory timing without a timing light on a CA18 anyway. Goto TDC slide CAS in, do bolts up lose. On the side of the front CAS cover where the CAS slides in (right side) you will see a little dash right next to the CAS.

Why is the timing chain on my Nissan club breaking?
It would rattle everytime I start the engine after it was sitting for about 1 hour or so. Sometimes it would rattle sometimes not. Finally I openned the cap where the main timing chain tensioner and I saw that main timing chain guide broke. Usually it brakes from the top and slides down. Therefore the main tensioner fully extends.

What should the ignition timing be on a Nissan Leaf?
Much easier than pulling the coil, adding and adding a wire. To adjust, turn the CAS. Timing should be 15* BTC. Looking at the marks on the crank pulley, from left to right (passanger side to driver side) is 5* AFTER TDC, 0, 5, 10, 15, 20* BTC. So you want to line it up with the second from right mark.
