When to put new fan belt on Mercedes Sprinter?
Install the new belt following the same pattern as you or your technician did with the old. Your new fan belt should go in as soon as you remove the old one. A correctly-working belt draws in air, allowing the engine to cool and saving you from an overheated engine. Compare the old belt with the new one to make sure it’s the same size.
Do you need a spare belt in a sprinter?
A top tip (Cheers Vic of Sprinter-Source) for anyone who carries a spare belt – the original may not be there for your reference and this makes a great, simple and easy ‘roadside aid-memoir’. I will be adding this drawing to the fleet as and when I next work on them.
How do you fit a belt on a Mercedes Sprinter 311?
The belts should be the exact-same size. If not, you’ll need to consult an auto parts shop and purchase a belt that will fit your engine. Open the bonnet of your Sprinter 311 and prop it open. Look to the side of the engine where the previous belt came out. You’ll see a series of pulleys which serve as points of connection for the belt.
Where are the LWB sprinters parked at base?
When parking I noticed one of the older LWB Sprinter fleet parked in the adjacent bay and though it would be an ideal opportunity to swap the long overdue diesel filter and add my new ‘super-sketch’ to the washer bottle. (to find one of these vehicles parked back at base and not on the road was very rare)
