What kind of oil do you put in a KDX?
I mix mine 50:1 with Amsoil Interceptor, but used to mix it 40:1 with Modul. 2 cycle oil is made to be mixed at specific ratios. I use a 32:1 oil mixed at 32:1 for my KDX. I prefer a 32:1 mixture because it contains more oil and gives better protection for your engine.
How often should you change the crankcase oil on a KDX?
To be accurate, the KDX doesn’t use oil in its crankcase…it uses oil in its gearbox which is in-unit with the engine (crankcase). You will find no advantage in using anything other than what the factory recommends: 10w-30 or 10w-40 motorcycle oil. The factory also recommends changing it every 600 miles. I would change it AT LEAST that often.

What kind of oil should I use on my Kawasaki 2 stroke?
Every two stroke I’ve owned has spooged from the tailpipe but yet I’ve never fouled a plug. Castor 927 smokes less and spooges less than other conventional oils but you have to use the premix up quickly because it begins to degrade quickly. They say to mix it right before you ride. I don’t know how long it stays “good” either.

I use amsoil eliminator oil at 50 to 1 in my kdx220. The golden spectro is good oil too. The spoog on your pipe is not because of oil ratio. It is running rich. Choose the oil and ratio you want to use and then jet your bike correctly.

Do you remove the overflow tank on a KDX?
Some KDX owners remove the overflow tank, but it doesn’t hurt to leave it in place to catch and condense any vapour and allow the radiator to suck it back in again later.
