Why does my Kawasaki Ninja 650R go into gear?

It does this when warm (hours warm) and when a little cold (idling until the bike slows down the idle automatically). Is that normal? It seems like it should go into gear without jerking or anything. My bike is a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 650R with about 2500 miles on it. I bought it new, and it is under warranty until 7/2011.
