Is the 2017 Subaru Forester XT a good car?
I’ve been a Subaru enthusiast for quite some time and a current 2017 Forester XT owner. I read Torque News frequently and was eagerly awaiting the new Forester on the global platform. The various spy shots of the new Subaru Forester didn’t get me overly excited and frankly I was just hoping Subaru would surprise us.

It is definitely worth it to use an OBDII scanner to check and see if the engine has thrown any trouble codes. It is highly likely that if your Forester won’t start that there will be codes. These codes will tell you what the computer is saying is wrong with your engine.

The front of the Forester XT is decidedly tamer than what I expected for the turbocharged model. Despite sporting an intercooler and forced induction over the base model, the hood is the same this time around — no scoop. The lone visual cue that this car may be different than the naturally aspirated model is the lower front fascia.
