Is it hard to change fork oil?

You are going to be holding the nut, and tightening the center threaded plug, so the torque wrench is used C-CW. Top nut: 40 foot pounds.
How do you change the front forks on a BMW?
Remove the nut and washer, press the center threaded plug down, and release the clip by pushing on it with a dull flat blade screwdriver. The LOWER side of the circlip groove is a bevel, so the clip will move down, tilt, and you can then remove it. The spring is obviously pushing on that circlip.

What kind of wrench to use on BMW Fork seal?
Use a standard 13 mm offset box end wrench on the nut. A special tool is made by Joe for this job and quite inexpensive. Now it will look like this. Hold the Allan wrench to keep the center from turning. Remove the 13 mm nut and washer from each side.
Why is the inside of my BMW Fork boot oily?
It is possible that someone replaced the seal, without cleaning or replacing the old fork boots and now the inside of the boot is still oily. If you want to see the seal for an even better and more accurate inspection remove the lower clamp and lift the boot up as shown above.
