How to troubleshoot a Jeep Wrangler AC blower?

The 3 wire switch was melted so I replaced it with 3 individual switches that I had laying around. I’m thinking that might be the problem too.

A good fan motor is supposed to draw something like 14-15 amps on its highest fan speed setting. They can start pulling 25 amps or more once they go bad which is what starts melting things.

How to draw a wiring diagram for a jeep heater?
Since you did have melting at the mode switch, a common problem, & replaced the connector with 3 individual wires make sure the wires are in the correct positions. Smaller light green wire on top, larger dark green wire in the middle & black on the bottom.

All of this assumes you have power to the blower motor. The panel does not power the relay. Fuse 8 behind the glove box does that. When the relay closes which should be when the key is on then power is sent to the motor from fuse 1 in the PDC. The motor gets grounded as described in the link I gave with the last step being through the mode switch.
