How much weight can a 2002 Pontiac Montana pull?
I want our 2002 Pontiac Montana to be able to tow 3000 lbs, with a loaded tongue weight of about 200 lbs. However, according to an engineer at Pontiac, the standard Montana can only pull 1500 lbs – though it says 3500 on some specifications, apparently that’s only if you ordered the towing package prior to manufacture.

Also having similar problems with my 1997 Trans Sport Montana with 115,000 miles on it. Happens on highway when a hard shift is needed at a high speed to go up a hill. I pulled over and did not shut the van off and then tried to drive again and it was stuck in 4th gear.

I pulled into a rest area, turned off the van for a while to eat (about 20 mins), then started it up and pulled back onto the highway.

Hi the mechanic obviasly check the coolant level, that being ok. I would replace the thermostat. If your in a cold climate you can also block part the the rad, BUT YOU MUST HAVE A GAUGE TO KEEP AN EYE ON ENGINE TEMPERATURE!

What was the Pontiac Montana mini van problem?
I have used less energy in a weight session, it was so bad. We own a 2001 Pontiac Montana mini van. We took the van in to have a/c checked as it was only blowing out warm air. The dealership said it was a condenser problem and would cost about $800 to fix. My parents also have the same year montana and their condenser also went in their van.
