I found you can manually press the program button (1 or 2) on the door by your leg and the pre-sets will change on the radio.

Same problem with the clock time not staying displayed. If you turn off the GPS setting for the clock it will stay. I guess the GPS turns off with the ignition and you lose the GPS and the time.
