Can you take a tube out of a Miata?
You can take it out and leave the system unhook or you can get the factory replacement tube for non A/C cars. This weighs almost nothing and will still let you bring in fresh air from the outside. Rosenthal Miata sells this for ~$30 and it comes with the grommets to fill the holes that are left in the firewall.
Where does the belt go on a Miata?
The belt closest to the radiator goes from the engine to the air conditioner compressor then the power steering. Not all miatas have this belt depending on A/C on power steering. The tension in this belt comes from the air conditioner compressor pulley. The tensioner (circled) needs to be adjusted to remove the belt.
What is the air duct number on a Miata?
I recommend it. ( 1999-05 miata non A/C air duct) ( P/S with no A/C belt) Edit: Apparently Rosenthal Miata has shut down and the links are dead. So the part number for the air duct is NA0161150A.
Why is the pulley not engaging the clutch?
Turn the air conditioning controls to MAX AC and start the engine. Then look at the front of the compressor clutch. Both the pulley and the clutch should be spinning. That means the clutch has properly engaged with the pulley. If only the pulley is turning, but the clutch disc isn’t, there’s a problem somewhere in the system.

Why are the ignition wires on my Miata not working?
Common Problem! The factory ignition wires on the Miata only seem to last between 30,000 and 50,000 miles. If you are experiencing misfiring and hesitation and you haven’t changed your wires, this is most likely the cause. Change the wires! In case you forget which plugs is which, refer to the firing order diagram below.
