Can you revive old Fimo?
The way you soften hard polymer clay is a combination of working (conditioning) it and adding new materials to make it more supple and workable. Then add some Sculpey Clay Softener, mineral or baby oil , or liquid polymer clay to it. Mix it up, put it in a ziploc sandwich bag, and leave it alone for a few days.
What is a clay cane?
A polymer clay cane is a log of polymer clay that’s made with a design that runs the entire length of the log. Slices from the cane will reveal a design and all slices from the cane will have identical designs. When slices of polymer clay canes are arranged to make a field of flowers, this can be called millefiori.
Why is my polymer clay cracking?
Cracking is almost always caused by insufficient curing or by baking a sculpture with uneven thicknesses throughout. To ensure you have a consistent thickness in your piece, we recommend “bulking out” with foil or creating an armature from Super Sculpey UltraLight™.
Is FIMO better than Sculpey?
Fimo Soft and Effect Durable after baking, it is a firmer clay than Premo and Sculpey III but not as firm as Kato. Fimo Effect colours have special properties such as mica metallic, glitters, translucents, & faux stones.
