Why was the Traktor S5 discontinued?
We have prioritized user feedback and collaboration for product development. The discontinuation of the Traktor D2 and S5 reflect these shifts and enables us to focus on launching new Traktor products into market later this year. There are more updates to Traktor Pro planned in the coming months.

At the time, Traktor’s development had all but ceased and NI’s staff was severely cut down. It would essentially entail a complete re-write of Maschine and Traktor (although the latter is already in the works), and complex logistical issues for existing Traktor and Maschine users.

A private equity firm has acquired a majority shareholding in Native Instruments, the makers of Traktor DJ software, from existing owner EMH Partners and from the company’s original founders.
What do you need to know about Traktor Kontrol S5?
