This happened to my 800 switchback the other day and hasn’t quit. If you start it, it pops a little and then start trying to ride it and it backfires to the point where it won’t go anymore unless you start it up full throttle and hang on.

Why does my Polaris Pro Bike pop under load?

Also, if I’m cruising along in high gear, it doesn’t have issues. Steady throttle seems to be ok except around 3/4-WOT. Even under load. So it runs like crap acceleration from 1/4 throttle to WOT but at WOT for a few seconds, will clear out and run good for 10 sec or so before wanting to die.

How can I Fix my Polaris plug problem?

Slip a piece of heat shrink tubing over the wire on the plug, solder it to the proper spade terminal at the hole you drilled, slide the shrink tube down and heat it up to seal the connection. Do the same for the other three wires.

Where is the parts kit on a Polaris?

Polaris has a parts kit out, PN 2875542. The kit consists of a new connector, wiring, heat shield/cover, etc. The stock connector rubs against the top of the throttle body.

Why is my spark plug not working on my Polaris?

As you get to higher RPM’s, the problem gets worse as the arcing is causing the spark plug to not fire consistently or enough. It can load up the plug and foul it.

Where is the CDI box on a Polaris snowmobile?

They were able to duplicate it and after dinking around with the carbs which had no effect the first miserable test ride out, the dealer found an intermitant short/open in the cable connector that goes between the stator and the CDI box. They cleaned all the connectors and reseated everything. So far, so good.
