Why is my OBD II scanner not connecting?
My OBD II scanner won’t link with my 2006 Civic EX. It plugs in fine, but when you hit the “LINK” button to retrieve codes, after about 10 seconds, the scanner comes up “ERR” Had a gas cap message that turned into a check engine light. Changed the cap and needed to clear the code.

Dec 24, 2008 I have been having so much trouble with this car so I finally went out and bought a nice OBD II Scanner. Relief came when the scanner arrived but it did not last long. I booted it up correct and as it tried to connected I get “Linking Error”.
Why is my PCM not connecting to the OBD2 port?
If no ground the circuit is broken somewhere between the OBD2 connector and the PCM If the ground is good then it is either a bad connection on pin 2 back to the PCM or a Bad PCM itself, which I suspect is the problem. Note that the OBD2 port is fused.

Why is the OBDII port on my Mercedes not working?
I received that cable yesterday and took the car to an Advanced Auto store this morning and they tried their basic scanner with this converter cable on the 38 pin socked and still had no communication or power, so I still can’t read my codes.
