Why does the idle speed of my bike go abnormally high when the engine heats up?
An engine at working temperature runs easier due to better combustion, better sealing of clearances and thinner oil that has lubricated all the components. As the engine has less friction and is more efficient when warm, it would idle at a higher speed, especially if the idle has been set when the engine was cold.

As the engine heats up the ring-cylinder mate becomes looser so that the engine will run smoother and easier…but if there is too much wear the combustion gases will begin to blow by the ring-cylinder surfaces and will cause each stroke to lose power.

Then, after about 1/2 hour it starts losing power and in a period of about 3-4 minutes it loses so much power that it can’t climb a small grade unless I drop it into 1st gear.
Why does my Outy 400 engine get hot?
It had about 1050 when we got it in the spring. The fuel system could be vapor locking or the fuel pump could be bad. It sounds more like a fuel pump issue since it runs fine when it is cool than when it heats up it sounds like the engine is starving for fuel.

Truck runs great cold when it gets up to temp the power decreases greatly. new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new air filter has been hooked up to two different computers and it’s showing no codes at all. New muffler and dual pipes,the old ones were bad. im at a loss and so are my mechanics
Can a car run with no heat at low rpm?
I have little to no heat at low rpm, but it will heat up when the rpm’s increase. Occaisionally this will not work though and at that time the engine has a tendency to overheat. Please let me know if you find a solution.
Why does my car over heat at low speeds?
Changed both relays and that did not solve the issues. My car overheats sometimes at idle or stopped in traffic, over heats a low speed, stays cool at high speeds, unless going up hill. Strangely, if I run at high RPMs going up hill the engine does not overheat as fast or not at all.
