Why does my Honda Accord Rev at 4, 000 rpm?
Consequently, the ECU will again restrict the amount of fuel injected into the engine, and hinder the Honda Accord’s optimal performance. Ultimately, if there’s a low or disproportionate air and fuel supply, the engine won’t rev beyond 4,000 RPM.
What happens when you go over 4000 rpm?
The engine computer has a built in rev limiter built in to the programming that will not let the engine go above 3800 to 4000 rpms when the transmission is not in gear and driving down the street. This is a normal protection so you do not over rev the engine and damage it. Was this answer helpful? Thank you for your feedback! Sorry about that.

What’s the difference between rpm rev and no acceleration?
RPM rev and no acceleration? I have a 2004 Hyundai Sonata with about 85,000 miles. Why does my car Rev at high RPM?
No, a clogged fuel filter would not explain an engine that is revving at high RPMs without the car moving at an appropriate speed. The most likely explanation would be a failing transmission if it is of the automatic variety, or a slipping clutch if it has a manual transmission.
Why does my Altima not accelerate when the RPMs go up?
If your Altima won’t accelerate, but the RPM’s go up it’s usually not going to be an engine related issue. Somehow, the power that your engine is creating is not making it to the rear wheels. This is typically a transmission related issue. Here are the most common cause of acceleration with the RPM’s going up:
Can a motor rev freely un-loaded at 3000 rpm?
A motor can rev freely UN-loaded, but as load raises so does the demand for a high intensity spark. DVA test the high speed windings of the stator AND also verify spark using an inductive timing light or an inductive tach while under load at the max RPM the motor will pull.

What happens when you hit 3000 rpm in a car?
If you are driving down the highway or taking off from a stop and hit 3,000 RPM the car will stop accelerating and the gas pedal basically becomes non-responsive. The car then slows itself down until you are under 3,000 RPM at which point it will perform normally as long as you stay under 3,000 RPM.

Where does the power go in a manual transmission car?
From your description, it sounds like the clutch is slipping. In a manual transmission car, there is direct power going from the engine, through the transmission, to the drive wheels. There should be a linear curve between the engine and vehicle acceleration. There’s only two places which might be in question here: the clutch and the tires.
