Why does my car have no heat while idling?
Low coolant is a possibility, when at idle the heater core might not be filling up with hot coolant. My girlfriend’s Cobalt appears to have a bad air flow changing mechanism (I guess that’s what you call it), and will only do floor and defrost. Her car uses electronic actuators to rotate a plate to change each flue’s position.
Why does my car Rev by itself when idle?
It sounds like you may have a dirty or failing idle air control valve. The idle air control valve monitors the air intake as it is mixed with fuel prior to being injected into the engine at low speeds and at idle.
When does the Heat return to the engine?
No heat until engine runs… Temp gauge rises above normal when at normal idle, goes back to normal when driving above 2000rpm,heat returns at driving speed,no heat when at idle.?
Can a car run with no heat at low rpm?
I have little to no heat at low rpm, but it will heat up when the rpm’s increase. Occaisionally this will not work though and at that time the engine has a tendency to overheat. Please let me know if you find a solution.
Why does my car have no heat at idle?
No heat or hot air during idle is the result of air gap in the heater core. Open hood, driver side fire wall you will the see the heater core rubber hoses.
What to do when your car AC blows warm at idle?
GM and others use either a three-relay set up to run the two fans at low speed for normal driving and high speed when the AC is on or the low speed can adequately cool the radiator. Other carmakers use a solid-state speed relay that varies the speed of the fans based on engine cooling and AC needs.
How can I get heat at idle on my Chevy Impala?
Use a funnel and fill both heater core hoses with 50/50 Dex-Cool (it does not take much, maybe 8 to 12 oz). Reconnect both hoses and reconnect both hose clamps. Fill overflow reservoir to proper level. Fill radiator to proper level. Now you will have heat at idle.
