Why does air only come out of defrost vents?
It is likely your vac reservoir is cracked or disconnected. When I turn on the air in my jeep the AC/Heat only comes out of the defrost vents at the bottom of the windshield no matter where I set the directional control? I could very well be very wrong but I think it might be a vacuum problem?
