Took the starter apart and the I think it’s called an armature (The copper thing the brushes touch) was covered in grime and residue from the brushes.

There is a fuel pump which works off vacuum from the intake stroke. The vacuum pipe connects to the carb. Disconect fuel pipe from the carb and turn over engine, fuel should spurt out.
