I have a 2017 WR450 with comp ECU, throttle stop removed, and uncorked exhaust. For maps I tried out several including Hollis but ended up liking the base Yamaha map for my riding style. Bike is absolutely a beast and I love the performance in open space and hill climbs.
What did you end up picking up on a WR450?

How much does a Yamaha WR450F cost in Canada?
Click to expand… So if Yamaha sold a Factory Street Legal WR450F for lets say $400 more than the current not street legal model it would have a Canadian MSRP of $10,699 which is within 10% of a Husky FE450S, not sure where a less than 10% price difference is “hugely expensive”. You can plate them in CO.
How often do you change the filter on a WR450?
IMO that’s not too bad, and I change the filter every other time. As for the WR450, the fuel injected ’12-’15 have the reliable 5-valve motor. The new ’16 is different and closer to the YZ with 4-valve, but I hear it’s awesome. BygDaddee likes this.

Is the Honda WR450 the low rpm King?
Execpt for the RFS, the WR is the low rpm king. It also revs, which the RFS did not. You have to correct ALL of the EPA/CARB stuff to make it so….which includes upgrading the apump to 2008 Honda specs.

Well try the 52-53 sprockets. Mapping with less ignition and more fuel helps. I think the 16+ has less torque than the previous models. They changed the bore and stroke. Bigger bore less stroke. More hp but less torque.
