What is Cristalino?
Cristalino, which means “crystalline” in Spanish, is oak-aged Tequila that’s filtered with charcoal. It’s generally crystal clear, as the name suggests, although some have faint tinges of color. The process is akin to many white rums, which can also be barrel-aged and have the color filtered out.
How long is 1800 Cristalino aged for?
16 months
1800 Cristalino is aged in both American and French oak barrels for 16 months, after which the liquid is married together and finished in Port Wine casks for an additional 6 months. It is then meticulously filtered via a unique process that adds smoothness without sacrificing taste.
Is Herradura ultra A good Tequila?
Like many other Herradura tequilas, the beginning is very sweet with a powerful vanilla taste which is not uncommon for aged tequilas. But, where this tequila wins is the finish. It comes together with some spicy tons and ends very smoothly. Easily one of my favorite tequilas at the moment.
