What does it mean when your car engine is too hot?

Why is my MerCruiser engine running too hot?
We usually find that the rubber water pump impellar blades have turned brittle from sitting. After the impellar was used for a couple of hours it crumbled to bits and the engine overheated. If your boat has been sitting for a year without being run, you should rebuild the water pump.
Why is my car engine hard to start?

Why does my engine die after running 30 mph?
Or does the engine have to be “hot” like after running 30 mph for 1 minute, for it to die. Vapor lock doesn’t happen often on old carb’d low fuel pressure motors. The high pressure and heat in the fuel rails is what causes gas to vaporize, I think. So I don’t think it’s vapor lock.
Do you know if your car is running hot but not overheating?
Most drivers look at their temperature gauge so rarely that many vehicle manufacturers don’t even include temperature gauges any more but just lights that will come on if your car is either extremely cold or extremely hot.
