What causes no start on Mack MP8 engine?
We’ve seen a no start condition caused by this All Mack mp engine starters are controlled by the engine ecu. The eecu provides the ground circuit for the starter relay. The purpose for that is to protect the starter from overcranking/overheating.
Why is my MP8 engine not cranking at all?
If the eecu sees excessive crank time it shuts off the ground circuit to the starter relay for a minimum of 30 seconds. Mine did the same thing. Took it to Mack and they pulled the oil temp plug on the driver side of oil pan and cleaned the oil out of it an it started right up.
What was the problem with the Mack truck?
One simple blown fuse caused massive problems, even had the local engineers Mack Corp. engineers stumped. One of the techs randomly on Monday night was checking fuses and caught it, they replaced it this morning and now it works fine (crosses fingers).

Is there a Regen problem in a Mack truck?
They reprogrammed the truck and did a forced regen. Engine light went off. Did a 100 mile high speed avg 70mph, and checked filter after the drive and it was 50 percent clogged. There were no active or passive regen during the 1 hr drive. MACK is putting the truck in intensive care. Escalating it to the highest level.

How many horses does a Mack MP8 have?
Most engines try to not do any work for fuel mileage. This one appears to be 500+ horses and 1850 torque you can have on hand all day long in any gear depending on where you are on the RPM gauge. I would not mind giving this one a go.

I THINK there is a brake switch and a sensor inside the TECU that determines the degree of hill the truck in on while hill assist is activated. Maybe the hill assist is staying active due to a bad brake switch. That could explain why pumping the brakes gets you moving. Take it to a dealer.

What’s the boost on a 2010 Mack MP8?
The turbo seems to functioning correct during the actuator test but during a road test boost will only go up to 22 psi. No faults. During road test the engine load never shows to get over 68 percent on the computer. The turbo is original and had 482000 miles on it.

Vmac only goes to 3 and if this is a MP8 that is a VMAC4, I have never seen one of those engine ecms kick the entire injector banks out to keep it from starting before. It is possible but highly unlikely, Does your mack have the LCD display in the middle of the dash. If it does you can go into fault diagnostics in there and pull the engine faults.
