Is O week just for first years?
Orientation week is the week of activities that kicks off the start of the uni semester. It’s strongly encouraged for first years to come down and see what your uni has to offer, not only to get a feel for your new campus, but to meet friends and enjoy the festivities.
Is UNSW going to stop trimesters?

Originally aimed at new students, O Week usually runs one week before the official start of term and is a way of helping students connect with their new university.

The rigor and amount of information taught in a trimester class is equivalent to those of a semester class. In exchange for taking fewer classes per term, students really have to gear up and brace themselves for the intense pace of their classes, or else they can easily fall behind even in the short 10-week period.

What’s the UNSW Trimester like? At UNSW, each session is 10 weeks long with a one week break around week 6 and another one right before end-of-semester exams. In between trimesters, you’ll have a two week break and then a longer holiday of around 2.5 months at the end of the year.
